The accusation over the alleged abuse of a female intern in 2008 comes just weeks after Pope Francis visited Canada, where he apologised for the decades-long abuse of Indigenous children in Catholic-run residential schools.
When contacted, the Quebec diocese said in a statement that it had"taken note of the allegations with respect to Cardinal Marc Ouellet" and had no further comment. Mr Ouellet's accuser, identified only as"F," says the cardinal, then the archbishop of Quebec, assaulted her multiple times. She alleges he kissed her and slid his hand along her back to her buttocks in 2010.In February, Mr Ouellet opened a Vatican symposium on the priesthood by apologising for"unworthy" clergy and the cover-up of child sexual abuse by Catholic clergy, before an audience that included Pope Francis.
A 'Hug' is not a sexual assault!!! Do some DD before you print! This good man, gave a grandfatherly hug to a young woman who then felt 'uncomfortable' ! Will my Grand Children accuse me someday? Shame on you for re-printing this garbage.
Just let the priests f*** and maybe they wouldn't resort to preying on the weak and vulnerable.
As suggested in the synodalpathway CatholicBishops Synthesis doc published today ‘physical, sexual and emotional abuse and it’s concealment by the church in Ireland was an ‘open wound’’ and so it seems is the case everywhere. How do you evangelise in the face of these stories!
Has anybody kept count of the amount of pedos in the church, must be millions at this stage.
