Depriving applicants of legal advice in bid to accelerate process ‘may be counterproductive’, lawyers warn

Both lawyers were speaking to The Irish Times after Minister for Justice Simon Harris said at the weekend that the Government would accelerate the international protection decision-making process.

The figures showed 45 staff were assigned last year to the repatriation office, which deals with issuing deportation orders, compared with 58 in 2019. The figures show that 14,849 cases are awaiting processing by the International Protection Office with most decided within three years. Applicants have been required since November to complete in English, on the day of arrival and without the benefit of legal advice, a preliminary interview and international protection questionnaire. Previously they had a number of weeks to compile their applications during which they could seek legal advice.

3 years to make a decision is counterproductive. It should take 3 minutes at point of arrival.

The 25-year cascade of public money that the lawyers have enjoyed as a result of illegal immigration into Ireland and the State facilitating it, must be protected at all costs, it seems. Successive governments have obeyed, and this one will be eager to do so as well.

Layers worried about losing a cash cow.

How else are lawyers doing to make money ?

Bacik says that lack of information from government on asylum seekers is helping far-rightThe Dublin Bay South TD has stated that a ‘NPHET-style’ public information campaign should be launched to combat disinformation. There should be no information vacuum... this fraudulent government is hardly going to come out and admit that this is a state sanctioned invasion..so silence and media spin is the tactic. But IrelandisFull and the slow demise of the MSM continues...🇮🇪 There is nothing wrong with having concerns about the government flooding the country with people who have vastly opposite cultural norms. The government have brought this on themselves by sneaking bus loads of them into communities in the middle of the night. I’m sure we all care what that communist thinks!
