Presenter Kathryn Thomas hailed their efforts and congratulated all five for their life-changing weight loss during the finale of the long-running RTE lifestyle programme

All five of tonight’s finalists in the emotional showdown of hit TV show Operation Transformation were declared winners.

Season 17’s finalists were Michelle Rogan, 36, from Kilmessan, Co Meath; Anne Cushen, 56, from Kiltealy in Wexford; Noel O’Connell, 57, from Kilcullen in Co Kildare; Darragh Fitzgerald, 37, from Limerick; and Edel O’Malley, 36, from Castlebar in Co Mayo.They each revealed in the final how going on the show to lose weight and integrate crucial changes to their lives benefitted their health and changed their futures for the better.

Tonight, on the show she said "I feel beautiful" and revealed she has rediscovered her "confidence and belief in myself". He had a tumour removed from his bowel and underwent intense chemotherapy - but he was diagnosed with atrial Fibrillation after attending hospital two years ago with an abnormal heart rhythm.He said tonight: "I haven’t been this weight since I was sick. Yvonne’s never known me at this weight."She said on the TV final: "I know now that I can do these things . Eight weeks ago, I said there is no way on this Earth that I will run a 5K.
