Ireland is set to be battered by rain, wind and thunderstorms over the coming days as a band of heavy rains moves across the country.Spells of heavy rain are expected in these areas, with the heaviest downpours in coastal and mountainous regions. Localised flooding and isolated thunderstorms are also possible.
A forecaster said: “Rain in the West extending across the country with some thundery downpours and a wet start in the East to Tuesday. A mix of sunny spells and showers following in a very strong Southerly breeze.’ Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees, in fresh or strong and very blustery southerly winds, easing later.
