Met Eireann has said low pressure is expected to dominate the country, for a time anyway, bringing unstable air down from the north weather MetEireann

After a wet and windy end to June, some good weather is finally on the way as a band of high pressure near the Azores edges up to Ireland later this week.However, high pressure near the Azores may increase from Thursday to Friday, bringing drier conditions.

The forecaster added: "Overall, it is expected to be wetter than normal. Some heavy or thundery rain can be expected at times early in the period with the risk of spot flooding. Marine wind warnings are likely to be in operation early in the period too."It looks like the Azores high will extend an influence up over Ireland from the southwest. As a result, temperatures are expected to be close to the seasonal average for early July.

Clear spells and well scattered showers will be seen at night, mainly affecting Atlantic counties towards morning.Wednesday, June 29 Showery conditions will affect the western half of Ireland during the first half of the day, later arriving into the eastern half of the country.Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 or 19 degrees, best values away from the Atlantic, all in mostly light westerly breezes.
