Up to 40mm of rain will drench parts of the country and there will be spot flooding

Up to 40mm of rain is set to drench parts of the country this weekend with Met Eireann issuing two Status Yellow weather warnings.

A forecaster said: "Heavy rain this evening and early tonight with some spot flooding. Totals 20 to 30 mm." A rainfall warning for Cork, Kerry, Wexford and Waterford will come into effect at 2pm on Saturday and last until 5am on Sunday.
