Met Eireann says highs will hit a very warm 23 degrees again today - but a big change is coming later in the week.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: ""Dry and bright this morning with plenty of sunny spells. A few showers will develop this afternoon, turning rather heavy and thundery across the midlands and west. The showers will continue through to this evening and it will turn more overcast too. Highest temperatures of 20 to 23 degrees and light winds.
Looking ahead for the remainder of the week, the national forecaster says temperatures will dip again and conditions will be "rather unsettled at times".The weather forecast reads: "A cloudy and unsettled start with scattered showers becoming more persistent from the afternoon across western and northern counties. Isolated showers will continue to spread further east throughout the country by the evening.
