Gardai have launched a major investigation following what it described as "serious incidents" in Clondalkin , Co Dublin on Saturday evening.
Shortly after 9pm, Gardai received reports of a man attempting to hijack a car unsuccessfully. The man subsequently approached a second car, removed the owner, and drove away from the scene. Following a managed containment operation involving local Garda units attached to the Clondalkin District and Armed Support Unit , the car was intercepted on the Katherine Tynan Road in Tallaght a short time later.
