The adage “with age comes wisdom” rings true for Lottie Ryan . The 2FM presenter has been married to her husband Fabio Aprile since 2017 and they welcomed their son Wolf into the world in 2021. Ever since becoming a wife and mother, Lottie has grown more confident in herself and has stopped caring what people think of her. “I’ve realised that I know what’s best for me and I’m much more comfortable with my own voice,” she tells RSVP .
Two things: one is getting older and being confident in my own skin, and the second is having Wolf. Maybe you don’t care as much about yourself when you’re a mother. It’s very tiring caring so much about what other people think and always trying to be careful about this, that and the other. I got to a point where I just stopped caring and like it or lump it, this is me. Living more openly and honestly is easier for me.I assume so.
I genuinely mean it when I say, I’m actually very good when it comes to negative headlines. I only care about the opinions of my family and friends. If I cared about the opinions of a load of people I don’t know, I would have been in a coffin a long time ago. Unless it’s something that’s deeply upsetting for my family, you have to take things with a pinch of salt.
There’s a brigade of people waiting to tell you that you’re doing something wrong. If you put yourself out there, you have to be ready for people to tell you that you’re wrong, like they know your baby better than you. The podcast was born from genuine conversations Jen and I were having and we thought they would help people. It’s very personal.Living in an apartment and raising a family there, that was really refreshing.
Yes, but I want my traditions and Fabio wants his, so we have to find the happy medium. Traditions are important to me because I think they’re a really good way of instilling lasting detailed memories of your childhood. It’s a way to remember special times and then hopefully they’ll continue them on with their own children.
