Lionel Messi has admitted that MLS side Inter Miami will be his 'last club' and that his time on the pitch is running out with retirement looming in the not-too-distant future

The 36-year-old football legend has explained how he already is thinking about life outside of the pitch and has shared that he is just about at the end of his playing career. In an interview with ESPN Argentina ahead of the Copa America, the Inter Miami star revealed that the MLS side will be "his last club" and said he does not have a lot of "time" before he hangs up his boots for good.

Additionally, his move to the United States to play for David Beckham's club was another difficult aspect he had to ease into as he had been used to playing European football.

The Argentinian star also admitted that winning the 2022 World Cup helped him see his career - and how long he can keep competing - in a different light. "The fact we won the World Cup helped, it helped a lot, to see things in another way," the 36-year-old spoke on."But I try not to think about it. I try to enjoy it. I do that more now because I'm aware that there's not a lot of time left.

During a brief spell with PSG, he scored 32 goals and had 35 assists. Taking his talents to Miami, Messi has helped turn a floundering club last season into one that sits atop the MLS' Eastern Conference this year.
