Limerick manager John Kiely has confirmed that star forward Peter Casey suffered a "significant injury" during the Treaty's 2-27 to 0-18 Munster Hurling Championship win over Tipperary.
There was to be no celebration however as Casey suffered a horrific leg injury in the process of scoring the goal and was stretchered off the field at TUS Gaelic Grounds before being taken to hospital. “We will make sure that he will get the best of treatment. He has come back from a serious injury before and came back very strong. I have no doubt that Peter has the capacity to do that again. We would rather not have to see him do that.
