The incident happened during Shelbourne's 2-2 draw away to Drogheda United on April 5

Shelbourne have handed a lifetime ban to the person who struck a linesman with a smoke bomb earlier this month.

At the time, Shels boss Duff said he was 'embarrassed' and 'ashamed' of the person responsible and the club have now confirmed that they have been banned from Tolka Park for life. The Dublin club said in statement: "Shelbourne FC can confirm following the conclusion of a disciplinary process that the individual responsible for throwing an object at the official during the recent match at Weavers Park in Drogheda has been identified and issued with a lifetime ban from Tolka Park.
