Justice minister announces plans to tackle anti-social behaviour after garda car rammed

Minister for Justice Helen McEntee Image: PA Minister for Justice Helen McEntee Image: PA THE MINISTER FOR Justice has unveiled plans to crack down on anti-social problems in Cherry Orchard, where a garda car was rammed by joyriders on Monday evening.

Footage of the incident, which also shows dozens of onlookers cheering after the Garda car is rammed, was shared online. “But the reason that I’m here today is to work with the community to try and respond and ensure that there is a criminal justice response, that we have the gardai and the resources to support that the community need to respond to these types of issues.

Longer prison sentences and holding the parents responsible , should do the trick.

Oh I Didn’t notice the usual statement from Dept of justice?.. that The Allocation of Garda Resources are a matter for the Garda….I’m wondering therefore about the temperature of the potato..

Another plan, another spoof

There's cherry orchards in every city and big town and nothing been done about it .the system needs to change, people living in social housing not obeying tenants agreement need to be dealt with very strictly by the council,no more ignoring the problems it's not fair on everyone

It would do better to increase funding for drug treatment centres and alcohol related treatments, provide better family supports for children from backgrounds of parental addiction, enable children to break the cycle instead of dooming them to repeat the same behaviour

Isn't that her job anyway ? Its going on all over Ireland because there are no gardai...time to reshape the force and bring in independent police for roads and transport...only then will government be serious....

Nothing will change, just paying lip service

She must be the most useless Minister ever
