Mr Justice David Keane made his comments during the sentence hearing of a 38-year-old Tipperary man convicted of the repeated rape and sexual assault of his young son.
Justice Keane said that a recent dicta from the Court of Criminal Appeal suggested that anyone who wishes to provide a character reference to the court should be in court and available for cross-examination.Defence counsel Kathleen Leader replied that it was accepted in evidence that her client, who went into custody last December, was a good father and that he was very much missed by his family.
In a short victim impact report the child, who is now a teenager, said that the abuse had no lasting effect on him and that he wanted to get on with his life.
The fascist Irish state further spits on the grave of the revolutionaries who’s blood watered its seeds… there will be a great deal of discontent among the workers if this continues…
just because someone hasn't tried to rape, murder or abuse you doesn't mean they haven't tried to do it to someone else. Abusers usually do their best to appear to be a well liked good person to help them get away with their crimes
Who in their right mind provides a character reference for a convicted child rapist.
A Narcissistic Family or Church System will ALWAYS provide “character references” for the Paedo to Gang Up on the Child Victim. This Gaslighting & Ganging-Up Child Abuse of the Child Victim is even WORSE than the Abuse itself. NO WONDER child is claiming “no lasting effects”.
Wonderful thinking,Judge. Shame it took rape of Male child by Paedo Father to prompt you into wonderful thinking.BTW the child is still a child- with NO capacityWHATSOEVER to predict the “lasting” effects at 20, 40,50 & 60 yrs.BTW re “references” -a Psychopath takes everyone in.
