A 19-year old man has been jailed for 15 months with another 15 months suspended, after he was convicted at the Circuit Criminal Court in Cork of drug dealing and drug possession charges.
Joshua Allen, who is the eldest son of celebrity chef Rachel Allen, pleaded guilty to possession for sale or supply of more than €22,000 worth of cannabis at the Ballymaloe Cookery School at Shanagarry, Co Cork in September, 2018.The court was told Allen was arrested after customs officers at the Portlaoise Mail Centre became suspicious about a package from the US addressed to him.
A controlled delivery was arranged, and Allen was arrested after he signed for the package and opened it.
CuanMhuire1 wonderful people , right place for this young man to get back on track. Wish him well
He’ll find that stint tough, I hope he will be ok.
Little pikey! This was just the tip of the iceberg of what this fella was up.
I'd give him another year for that haircut
Justice is done now.Don't kick people when they are down.He has pleaded guilty.
Serious community service in drug addiction programmes would be far more beneficial & he would see the damage that drugs. Jail, man slaughter receives less lenient sentences- legal system a joke!!
It’s awful that he’s getting more jail time than his paedophile grandfather
Cannabis? A non story....Should be decriminalised....Waste of Garda and Judicial time and money.. All drug addiction/abuse should be treated as a health issue, in the same way alcohol is treated..
So he's selling grass to people who like it and helps chill them out and ease anxiety, so locking him up for over a year is the answer? At least make him do something productive for society.prison won't make a person grow. I Wouldn't be throwing someone in there for selling gange
The old file in the cake trick won't be a problem😉
Who cares not quite news worthy or important enough to have on RTÉNEWSTV. Never even heard of this brat till now
Probably do a cushy 6 months somewhere given the family name.
If hes anything like his mother or grandmother, atleast prison food is about to be taken to new heights
Good to see justice being served for once in that family
What a massive waste of time, money and opportunity cost.
Why should he be treated any different than anyone else. It is like some people think Ballymaloe is off limits. His Grandad got away with just having a fine for having images of child porn. I won't buy anything related to Ballymaloe ballymaloefoods or cullyandsully
