Manchester United produced a woeful display in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Brentford, piling the pressure back on manager Erik ten Hag and his underperforming players

Jamie Redknapp and Dion Dublin are in full agreement over "damning" comments made by Erik ten Hag after Manchester United drew with Brentford.

Post-match, a frustrated Ten Hag admitted: "We made some mistakes and we have to talk about this, of course. We should act different in that occasion where we conceded the equaliser, it was absolutely unnecessary. Analysing Ten Hag's comments on Sky Sports, ex- Liverpool midfielder Redknapp explained: "He said they wanted it more and whenever you hear a manager say that, that's quite damning." Former United striker Dublin quickly interjected to say: "That hurts, doesn't it?"

"Do they do that for effect? I know they haven't necessarily had the back four that they would like and if you've got Martinez and Varane at centre-back, or whatever he wants to do, it helps in building your play up, but I don’t know what the Manchester United way of playing is.
