Migrants living in tents are being removed by Gardaí from the Grand Canal in Dublin.

Around 100 tentsIn a statement, the Department of the Taoiseach said Gardaí aimed to “ensure the safe movement of people seeking international protection from the tents on the Grand Canal to International Protection Accommodation Service -designated accommodation.”The new accommodation will have access to toilets, showers, food, charging points and transport links to Dublin city centre.The area around the Grand Canal was completely barricaded off and the tents were removed.

"You didn't see a situation go on for weeks and months as you had previously seen in relation to Mount Street."The days of people saying, 'That's not my issue, that's for that department' - I don't want to hear it.with 290 men relocated from Mount Street to accommodation at Crooksling and Citywest.
