The number of tents along the Grand Canal, near Mount Street Lower where the headquarters of the International Protection Office is located, continued to increase on Wednesday, with more than 100 present. Though the men did not know where they would be brought to, it is understood they are being bussed to a site at Crooksling, where some people staying in tents were moved to from outside the IPO last week. There is significant concern at the highest levels of Government about what one source described on Wednesday night as “record levels” of new arrivals as the State is struggling to find extra space.
