Gardai are investigating "all the circumstances" surrounding the discovery of a man's body in Co Carlow.His death is being treated as "unexplained" and the services of the Garda Technical Bureau and the Office of the State Pathologist have been sought.However, it is understood the elderly man had already passed away at this stage and was being held up by the two men.
It is believed that the men were attempting to pretend he was still alive by dressing him in a coat and mask.A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the unexplained death of an elderly male in the Carlow area this morning, Friday 21st January 2022. "The services of the Garda Technical Bureau and the Office of the State Pathologist have been requested.
