A delegation from the Financial Services Union will meet Northern Ireland's finance minister Conor Murphy to discuss the future of banking in Northern Ireland

The FSU said NatWest's announcement of a strategic review of Ulster Bank's operations in the Republic of Ireland, the news that Bank of Ireland is to review its operations in the North and the proposed Danske Bank restructuring will be the key issues discussed.

"If Ulster Bank were to close in the Republic these jobs would be at risk," stated John O'Connell, the General Secretary of the Financial Services. Sharon McAuley, the Belfast based President of the Financial Services Union, will also attend today's meeting with Mr Murphy.
