Former Bishop Martin Drennan dies aged 78

A native of Piltown, Co Kilkenny, he studied at Saint Patrick's College, Maynooth and was ordained to the priesthood in 1968.

He continued his studies in Rome where he was awarded a licentiate in both sacred theology and sacred scripture.In a statement Bishop Michael Duignan said Bishop Drennan would be remembered in prayers and he offered sympathies to his family and to those mourning his loss.
