Evan Ferguson News

Brighton And Hove Albion FC,Republic Of Ireland National Football Team

The Ireland striker has been out of action since late March.

Evan Ferguson 's season is over with boss Roberto De Zerbi confirming the striker will be sidelined for the club's remaining games through injury.

The Ireland striker has been sidelined with an ankle injury which he sustained against Liverpool at the end of March.Speaking ahead of Brighton's clash with Manchester City, De Zerbi said: "Evan felt pain in the ankle a lot of time and he tried to move on, to play with pain. But at the end he preferred to stop and to think about next season."

Brighton are currently light on bodies due to injuries and currently sit 10th in the table, having won just one of their last five games. After a fast start to the season, Ferguson himself has struggled with form and has failed to score since November against Nottingham Forest. It is now likely that the 19-year-old will miss Ireland's June friendlies against Hungary and Portugal.
