Dublin woman Raisa Boyd has told of how suffering from psoriasis impact her self esteem and left her feeling isolated, insecure and judged by others.
Reflecting on her personal experience, Raisa explained how she noticed small patches of irritated skin on her head and middle of her back when she was a teenager. She said: "Psoriasis significantly influenced my choice of clothing and how I presented myself to the world. "Psoriasis also had a profound impact on my confidence and self-esteem. The constant visibility of the symptoms made me feel self-conscious and insecure about my appearance, undermining my confidence in various aspects of life."
