The image on the side of a house on Montague Lane, off Camden street in the city centre, is the portrait of a man with a number of cracks on his face.In Kintsugi, the cracks are transformed into a beautiful feature.
It has been created by artist Joe Caslin who said the idea is to reflect the work of the charity, Dublin Samaritans, which offers a 24-hour emotional support helpline. Describing the artwork, Mr Caslin said"the man is facing you, and is telling you he may have been broken at one point" He said filling in those cracks with gold paint echos the work of the charity's volunteers;"when someone is at a low point there is someone on the phone who can help you."
The Director of Dublin Samaritans, Mary McMahon, said there is call to Samaritans' helpline every 61 seconds, that volunteers answer more than 1,000 calls a day from people struggling to cope.

Arson attack on house in West Dublin leaves two children and two adults hospitalisedA number of lines of inquiry are being pursued following an arson attack on a house in West Dublin that left two young children and two adults hospitalised. Gardai say they received a report of suspected criminal damage by fire that occurred at around 5am on Monday at a residence on Aylmer Drive, Newcastle. Four people, including two young children, had to be rescued by emergency services from the property and were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Three were rescued by firefighters using a ladder to gain access to an upstairs window. Gardai believe an accelerant was used in the fire at the property and a criminal investigation is now underway. The front window of the house was smashed and a firebomb thrown into the property. A car parked in the driveway was also damaged.

Ireland players celebrate Six Nations triumph in DublinThe Ireland players let their hair down last night as they celebrated their Six Nations triumph in Dublin. Andy Farrell's side ground out a win over Scotland to see them win the championship for the second successive year. Ireland were not at their best at the Aviva Stadium but they did enough to repel a gallant Scottish side. The celebrations began on the pitch, continued into the dressing room and kept going into the early hours for the team. The Ireland players were joined by their partners and families for a sit-down meal before partying into the night. Among those enjoying the celebrations was Ireland captain Peter O'Mahony who may have played his last game in green. After lifting the trophy at the Aviva, O'Mahony admitted that he will discuss his Test future with his family in the coming weeks. The 34-year-old became emotional during the anthems and it is believed that he is seriously considering hanging up his boots at international level. O'Mahony, speaking after the match, didn't give a definitive answer when questioned if he had made his final appearance for Ireland. "I don't know," he said. "I have a few chats to have with the family and stuff over the next couple of weeks. "If it was my last one, it's not a bad one to go out on."
