Government should aid small businesses directly to help prevent bankruptcies

An eerily quiet Temple Bar in Dublin: By ordering the private sector to close, in order to avoid overwhelming our hospitals, the State is putting most of the economic burden on the small business sector.

Photograph: Stephen Collins/Collins PhotosFintan O’Toole, deems it “breathtaking” that a group of 11 men, and not a single woman, took the decision to lock downOf course he is right. Robust decision-making must be representative. None of the decision makers – all public servants or politicians – works in the sectors that they are closing down.

One fake Jew talking about another fake Jew I wonder what they think of BB Netanyahu's homeland response too the lockdown

Did u think of that all by yourself

Let them pay our bills , then reality might kick in 😡😡

That’s what I have been saying all along. Easy to make decisions when it doesn’t financially impact you!

Very easy for doctor Tony to make a 6 week lockdown recommendations when he's on a minimum of €250k +merc+perks

Says the man who gets paid

The decision makers will always be in a comfortable position economically that's why they are the decision makers. If and when things return to normal they will enjoy all the benefits of their affluence while the essential workers will once again be ignored and exploited COVID19

If you had a choice; would you waste 10s of billions and counting, put hundreds of thousands out of work, make poor people poorer, cause deflation, and increase debt for the young,,, or would you look after the vulnerable and invest in health care - icu beds!

We're dealing with a class of people who spent their entire time in school and uni studying and then moved into a safe secure job where they will remain until they retire on a nice guaranteed pension. These people simply cant comprehend that others may access risk differently.

FatEmperor Public against Private, public debt vs private obligations

People making these decisions on other people's lives should be on the PUP. Not many poor politicians.

Ya there’s a bit of heads i win tails you lose about it

FatEmperor They need to start giving up earnings and assets when making these decisions, because we are all in this together apparently 👌🏾

FatEmperor Throw away your masks, see your friends & your family, open your businesses, welcome your loved ones to your home, hug grandparents, reject anti-social distancing, travel, love & live life & when they try to stop you, tell them that you're Trent Hardcastle IamTrentHardcastle

Better if Mr. McWilliams could say lockdowns don't work to stop a virus; they kill small businesses; destroy lives of the young; let's not do them anymore.

FatEmperor Come on

Does getting paid alter the quality of the decision?

So where the 7.4bl stimulus package going David?

Weak sheep 😂
