Ireland currently remains in a "containment phase" in relation to COVID-19 – the coronavirus which has spread globally from Wuhan in China.
It is not known how easily the virus spreads from person to person, nor if it can spread before symptoms are shown. The National Ambulance Service is actively engaged in risk assessment for all suspected cases, and the appropriate response to case recognition and containment. If your doctor thinks that you need a test for coronavirus, they will tell you where the test will be done. They will also tell you when to expect your results. The National Public Health Emergency Team has said that anyone who has been to an affected region in the last 14 days AND is experiencing symptoms should self-isolate and call their GP.
"Anyone who has been to the affected regions in northern Italy - Lombardy, Veneto Emilia-Romagna and Piedmont - in the last 14 days and has a cough, shortness of breath, breathing difficulties or fever should self-isolate and phone their GP immediately."To date, entry screening at ports and airports is not recommended by the World Health Organization or the European Centre for Disease Control .
A far more pressing threat than COVID-19...
Looks like a suspected case at tallaght this morning. Guy in a car being tended to by people in full protective gear as we were leaving!
Tracking map....
What hope have we if authorities don't take this seriously,
Monitoring is not enough. We need action. Why are more Italian towns not being added to the no go areas? Areas where the Italian Ministry of Health have ordered all appointments and public events cancelled e.g.
To help with the people it's all about profits baby ya 😂😎
There seems to be vaccine starting trials......
really? is that why they're letting people from infected zones enter the country unchecked?
TCDArtCurator “It can take up to 14 days for the symptoms to show” and “only self-quarantine if you are feeling unwell”. So go to work/school for a fortnight, spread the virus and then take to the bed when you’re feeling sick. Makes no sense.
Like I take advice from RTÉ.
