Three schools in Northern Ireland have told students returning from trips to regions in the north of Italy affected by the coronavirus to remain at home as a precaution |

The schools said pupils and staff who travelled to the region were advised to follow the guidance of the Public Health Agency there and self-isolate for a fortnight.

Banbridge Academy in Co Down sent up 88 pupils and staff when they arrived back at the school following a ski trip to the resort of San Valentino. In a letter sent home with each of the affected pupils, the school said the move was in line with guidance from the Public Health Agency. A group from Mount Anville all-girls post-primary school in Goatstown, Dublin also recently returned from northern Italy.

The parent-teacher meeting, which had been due to take place tonight, will be rescheduled for a later date.

Well it seems NI have the public’s interests at heart in this attempt to stop spread... meanwhile across the border if you’ve no symptoms (yet) continue to go to school and give the Coronavirus a public welcome, very frustrating

South Dublin aswell

Why are people going to places where the Coronavirus is ? big brains 🧠

But yet down south they are told only when they start feeling symptoms to put yourself into isolation🤨

Sensible approach.
