He made the promise during Leaders Questions in the Dáil today and he said this would be the Government's first step to remove private practice from public hospitals.
The Irish Medical Organisation has being putting pressure on the Government to address what they say is a recruitment and retention crisis in the area. Consultants are seeking pay parity for specialists appointed since October 2012, compared with established consultants.The IMO has said that the 30% pay disparity for more recently appointed consultants must be abolished.
To be fair this is actually an excellent Idea, but very long overdue.
someone i know has been getting non stop letters from the dole about an unpaid debt of like 25 euro that was no fault of their own yet the minister in charge of that department ReginaDo had debts of 60,000 due to revenue when her company went bust , this country is a joke
ProfPayEquality am I right to be cynical? Oversimplifying the issue and if pay equality not given can blame 'Greedy Consultants' that won't give up private practice?
So they’ll have to build more private hospitals then 😑 my neurosurgeon in Beaumont sees both public & private patients there on different days. It hasn’t made any difference to my care. I’ve actually better care from him than most of my other doctors
