Conor McGregor has claimed that he has received confirmation that he will return to the UFC this Summer.
"We got confirmation a few days ago that it's all systems go and the Mac, The Notorious will be returning in the UFC octagon this summer," McGregor told ESPN.As for who his opponent will be, the most likely option is Michael Chandler. The Notorious coached opposite Chandler on the Ultimate Fighter last year, and the American has been pushing for a fight ever since, even turning up on WWE Raw recently to call the Dubliner out.
While the two-weight former champion seems confident that the fight is secured, his comments contradict a statement he made earlier this week when he claimed in a radio interview that "there's been no talk about anything." In that same interview, McGregor revealed that he was upset with how Dana White dismissed his callout of Nate Diaz for UFC 306 and gave an update on his contract status.“You know, there was cold water put on that in public off the bat and I wasn’t happy with that.“So, I hope I can get something in and get dialled in.“I hope we’ll get some clarity with a date and I can push towards it.
