China pauses to remember victims of coronavirus outbreak

Image: PA Images Image: PA Images CHINA HAS HELD a three-minute reflection to honour those who have died in the coronavirus outbreak.

Wuhan has been lauded as a “heroic city” by the nation’s communist leadership for the sacrifices made by its 11 million citizens. China’s figures, 81,639 cases and 3,326 deaths, are generally considered to be understated because of a lack of testing and a reluctance to report the scale of the original outbreak.

The State Council, China’s cabinet, ordered that national flags be flown at half-mast around the country and at Chinese embassies and consulates abroad, and the suspension of all public recreational activities.

With all due respects they should bow their heads in shame for visiting this tragedy on the world mainly due to their lack of controls of the totally inhumane wet markets in China. This disgusting market is now under control but should be abolished. Pause for the what was done.

As far as I am concerned, China can fuck off for themselves. They have destroyed our way of life and they have blood on their hands.

'Sacrifices'. Very odd turn of phrase. What did they sacrifice their lives *for* as the phrase implies? 🙄 This is the vocabulary of US hawks & entirely inappropriate considering many died in vain given the cover ups of the outbreak
