A three-year-old boy has died after a car smashed into a shop and hit the child and a woman in Edinburgh.
It is understood the car mounted the kerb and ploughed into the shop window, trapping the two pedestrians around 2.30pm today.Children's books and toys could be seen in the smashed-up St Columba's Hospice charity shop's window in the aftermath of the tragedy this afternoon. A witness, speaking on condition of anonymity, said: “There were two injured parties, one was a child who looked to be around three years old.“The child appeared to be partially under the car and appeared to be breathing when I was there.“She had cuts to her arm and face and was bleeding.“There were around ten police cars, two ambulance vehicles and a fire engine.“I arrived just after the car hit the building.
