The train departed Connolly Station in Dublin city at around 11am and was due to arrive in Rosslare at around 2.30pm.Today's service was sold out and around 300 passengers are understood to currently be on board. The steam train service is operated by the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland , and not Irish Rail. The line between Greystones and Wicklow was temporarily closed but has since reopened.
However, DART services remain suspended between Greystones and Bray due to the cabling damage which is currently being assessed. Irish Rail said earlier that Rosslare to Connolly and Connoly to Rosslare services will operate as bus transfers from Bray/Greystones and a train from Greystones/Rosslare.According to the RPSI website, the Sea Breeze service is hauled by steam locomotive No.131 which offers passengers views of tunnels, cliffsides, beaches, forests and rivers as it travels from Dublin to Wexford.
A passenger on board the train told RTÉ News that the situation was calm as they await the arrival of the Irish Rail train.
