Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Mr Ryan said airlines having to cancel flights in recent days as a result of Covid-19 affecting staff was"absolutely" a matter of concern, adding that:"Our concern here is obviously first and foremost with the travelling public and their inconvenience.
He said that airlines have to manage their own scheduling services, and acknowledged it is currently a difficult time in aviation as Covid has"disrupted everything". Speaking about the cancellation of flights due to Covid-19, Minister @EamonRyan told @morningireland that the Defence Forces will be on standby from July 6,"it's happening right across Europe... it's a very difficult time in aviation." | https://t.co/jZge7My7C8 pic.twitter.com/jLiIjkKpZY
He said it is, in his view, a"good definition of aid to the civil power", and was right to do as a last resort.
Feic all to do with Covid. They lied so much about covid, it has become a habit.
So the airport can’t operate because of the numbers catching an airborne virus, here’s an alternative, stop people gathering and flying and ensure we all wear masks.
Here we are again with this shower of shit blaming anything but themselves for a situation entirely caused by them. Un-fucking-real. Covid is done. It's a flu FFS. Did we close everything down for the winter before this shitshow?
Is this the stupidest thing he has said...yet.
Wear a mask aginst infection by an airborne virus? No. Call out the army instead. Genius.
'Eventuality'. It's only an eventuality due to Govt incompetence, ineffectualness and determination to put so called economy over health of workers, all while struggling to grasp a simple fact that workers health is one of the largest factors impacting an economy. Rank stupidity
This is an issue caused by SARS-COV-2. Would it be an idea to limit the spread of that virus? It's causing massive disruption and monetary loss.
As minister for transport what is Mr Ryan actually doing .. Riding his bike around acting the Dan …. Sort it out isn’t that what your job is
Now our army will be exposed to repeat infections too.
Dublin Airport is a useful Covid hotspot. Drop baggage, collect Covid and go.
Irish government pimping out our defense forces to make money for airlines in an airborne pandemic. Proud moment for Ireland. 🇮🇪🦠✈️ DublinAirport
The irony of it is that the trained soldiers will be paid far less than the untrained security staff in the airport 🤦♂️
Ryan would blame everything on Covid. His inexcusable attempts to manage yet another crisis that he let develop while he sat back on his hands and done nothing. He was advised of this in February. Caught napping again. He’s not qualified for his position, completely incompetent.
The airport was open throughout covid. Never any issues apart from the two girls who went on the sesh for a few days, and became national news!
Mr Ryan Talking rubbish again. We we're told by the H.S.E. That must of the population is fully vaccinated, with No.1 + No 2. Vaccines, and large number of people have got their booster shots. Now here we go again, another mess going to start. What's in the vaccines. Seven-Up.
DAA is not a Civil Authority!
What a load of shite, this Lad needs gone already 🤮🤮🤮
Direct more traffic to Cork, Shannon and Knock. More planning is badly needed. We always seem to put our eggs into the one basket. We have airports outside dublin
Spoofery of the highest order.
Don’t blame covid don’t blame war all tds heading off for 8 weeks why don’t all of you put on the green jersy and chip in gavreilly NewstalkFM
You have to be fucking shitting me
Maybe bring back mandatory masks? Cheaper than deploying the Army? Or do they want the old and medically vulnerable to die, cheaper on the Health Service?
As per usual with Eamon Ryan, theres no planning put into anything. He's hopeless at his job
