An Antiques Roadshow guest was left stunned when expert Geoffrey Munn revealed the staggering worth of two beautiful diamond brooches, and one diamond and ruby brooch

In a previously aired episode of the BBC show that was repeated on Sunday, the roadshow visited one of the grandest, historic houses in Wales, Powis Castle. Expert Geoffrey Munn was tasked with evaluating three beautiful brooches – two diamond, and one diamond and ruby brooch.

The expert noted how they dazzled in the sunlight and added: "They look absolutely wonderful. Shall we unpick them? The one on the left here is a very sweet little bow. The bow is not simply a bow. It's a true lovers knot because the harder it is pulled, the tighter it becomes. And then the diamonds are forever so the little subliminal message for your wedding was perfectly well chosen.

“They might even have gone down the back of a woman of very high rank and huge wealth," he explained. "The important point about the signalling of rank is that people simply didn’t recognise the sovereign or the attendants because there was no photography and precious few portraits so when they entered the room there had to be an enormous display of sumptuary."

Antiques Roadshow Expert Refuses to Put Price on 'Rare' ItemAntiques Roadshow viewers witnessed a first on Sunday night's episode when expert Ronnie Archer-Morgan refused to put a price on an exceptionally "rare" item. The latest episode of the long-running BBC series saw the team of experts head to Alexandra Gardens in Cardiff where Archer-Morgan got to examine an ancient ivory bangle presented to him by a guest. The woman revealed that she purchased the item for just £3 over three decades ago and was keen to hear if it had any monetary value.
