The Drogheda fighter took his professional record to 9-0 with an impressive victory over Darius Mafi at the Bellator Champions Series Belfast

Ciaran Clarke is hoping to fight in America for the first time as a professional later this year after producing an impressive performance to beat Darius Mafi in Belfast.

After taking serious damage in the opening two rounds, Mafi found himself on the ground once again less than 30 seconds into the third and Clarke made him tap out seconds later after locking in an arm triangle. "I felt really, really good, I felt comfortable, I felt I had his timing, I finally got to show a bit of my striking, I think I can build off that and again I think that was a lot down to that I was fighting massive, massive lads. I wasn't fighting lads the same size as me. I was fighting lads at featherweight who were coming in at 70-75kg.

"I would love to fight in San Diego in September," he stated. "I can't do Dublin now in the summer, it's just too close."
