One of the cast members from the iconic 1996 sports comedy Happy Gilmore has hinted that the movie’s creator Adam Sandler is currently working on a script for a sequel. Christopher McDonald, who plays Shooter McGavin in the original, appeared as a guest earlier this week on the US sports podcast. In the episode, McDonald revealed that he recently ran into Sandler, who apparently showed him a first draft of the long-awaited follow up film.
“I saw Adam about two weeks ago, and he says to me, ‘McDonald, you’re gonna love this’,” McDonald said. The 69-year-old actor added: “I don’t wanna be a liar, but he did show me that, and I thought, ‘Well, that would be awesome.’ So, it’s in the works.
