DJ FOCUS ENTERTAINMENT: Announces its results for the 2023/24 financial year - a year of structuring and new organisation for the Group
Revenue from Other amounted to EUR10.2 million for the financial year, consisting of the activities of the influential marketing agency and revenues from the newly created audiovisual platform, SCRIPTEAM. The very good performance of the back catalogue in 2023/24 as well as the contribution of DOVETAIL Games did not manage to offset lower-than-expected sales of Atlas Fallen and the impact of the portfolio adjustment to concentrate investments on franchises owned or co-owned by the group and with recurring revenues.
-- The amortization of goodwill, amortised on a straight-line basis over 10 years, and intangible assetsidentified in connection with acquisitions amounted to -EUR12.6 million, compared with -EUR9.3 million in the 2022/23financial year, mainly reflecting the integration of Dovetail Games at the beginning of the financial year.-- Financial income amounted to -EUR6.1 million compared with -EUR3.
In December 2024, the Group also announced the creation of the SCRIPTEAM audiovisual platform, with the acquisition of a stake in two experienced audiovisual production studios: Make it Happen Studio and Marvelous Productions.Net debtAt 31 March 2024, the Group still had EUR30 million in undrawn confirmed credit lines, including EUR15 million in revolving credit.
This year, at the same time as the Annual Report, the Group is publishing its first Non-Financial Performance Statement, including an updated carbon assessment. The Group has also published its first ethics charter, which has been shared internally and will be made public in the coming months. -- The second in the Australian video game development studio UPPERCUT GAMES, founded in 2011 by industryveterans whose teams specialise in creating successful franchises such as BioShock, XCOM and Borderlands. Apartnership was also signed to create a new intellectual property co-owned by FOCUS Entertainment Publishing.
The adaptation of the famous Metal Slug franchise - published by DOTEMU and developed by LEIKIR Studio, one of the studios in the PULLUP Entertainment group - Metal Slug Tactics will be launched in autumn 2024 on PC, Xbox One/Series, PlayStation 4 and 5 as well as on the Nintendo Switch console. The demo launched on STEAM on 7 June 2024 is already in the top 10 most played games of the month.
