"Providing a basic standard of care for people throughout their lives is critical for development," World Bank President Ajay Banga said in a statement."This ambition won't be realized with a solo effort. Canada's carbon price could slash emissions by over 100 million tonnes by 2030A new analysis by the Canadian Climate Institute suggests that Canada's carbon price could reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by more than 100 million tonnes annually by 2030. However, only a small portion of this reduction will come from the consumer carbon price, which has been the target of Conservative criticism. The analysis indicates that all existing climate policies combined could cut emissions by 226 million tonnes in 2030, with consumer carbon pricing contributing between 19 million and 22 million tonnes, and industrial carbon pricing contributing between 53 million and 90 million tonnes. The report emphasizes that the industrial carbon price is the primary driver of Canada's climate plan.
