Friends and family identified the victim as Marcelina Perdido Agulay

Agulay was a member of Migrante BC, a community organization that works to protect the rights of Filipino immigrants and migrant workers.

She was a crafter and known “for her smiles, good sense of humour, a big and generous heart,” according to a social media post by the organization. “She will be missed.”Police have not released the identities of the people involved in the accident. RCMP has not confirmed the collision was a result of impaired driving, but said alcohol may have been a factor.A head-on crash on Low Level Road in North Vancouver just after 11 p.m.

The vehicle occupied by the lone male was on fire when emergency services arrived, but the male had been removed before the blaze started, said DeVries.The woman was declared dead and her passenger remains in critical condition. Due to a serious motor vehicle incident last night, Low Level Rd remains closed between E 3rd St. and St. Andrews Ave. for at least another hour. Employees of Neptune Terminal are being permitted access by police at the scene.
