The public-relations benefit of Henrik and Daniel Sedin's return is inescapable. But the twins’ intelligence, understanding of team dynamics, and ability to connect and communicate within the organization should lead to genuine impact. (via imacSportsnet)

The challenge is defining roles for them that would provide the Sedins real input in hockey-ops while allowing them to learn about NHL management. Self-aware, they know what they don’t know.

They want to learn, just like Chris Drury did with the New York Rangers before he became their general manager this spring. Just like every former player who has built a successful second career in management needed to learn. Maybe the Sedins will grow into powerful roles and run the Canuck or another NHL team one day. Or maybe the marathon hours management demands, the 12-month season and precious time away from their kids and families will prove too onerous. Maybe they won’t feel valued, or maybe they’ll discover that there is no substitute to the thrill of playing.

imacSportsnet Everything the organization said yesterday centered around communication. I wonder what internal memos and conversations were had regarding this topic within the canucks front office and ownership circles.

Fan2Abby imacSportsnet Unless we realize that Jim Benning likes to think he's the smartest person in the room at all times and has undermined/fired any dissenting opinions so that he can control the message/decisions..... but yah, CHANGE! Should be interesting...

imacSportsnet Are they simply incapable of working separately. So weird.

imacSportsnet Just shows what a pathetic franchise the Canucks really are

imacSportsnet Even in post-career they are doing this together it's kind of insane!

imacSportsnet Not a fan of the twins…I always felt they had tons of skill but they didn’t have enough Grit to elevate themselves and the team to a Cup.

imacSportsnet How many cups did they win? I forget. 🤔
