Roads and border crossings were blocked across the country as protests sprung up in support of Wet'suwet'en Nation

, while demonstrators set up rail blockades outside Montreal, at a rail yard in Vaughan, Ont. and in East Vancouver.

The Canada-wide demonstrations began after the RCMP moved into Wet’suwet’en territory in northern British Columbia to enforce a court injunction allowing Coastal GasLink access to a worksite for a pipeline that will run through the territory. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau cancelled a diplomatic trip to the Caribbean on Monday in favour of an emergency meeting with senior cabinet members to address the disruptions.

I see a lot of white people up front!

FAKE PICS ..

Stop ramping up civil war...so irresponsible. Accurate reporting is essential during this crisis.

The liberals showed profound weakness. Now the paid eco terrorists like extinction rebellion are being ordered to 'stand in solidarity' while actually not caring about FN at all. And the media will eat it up

Looks like some cultural appropriation erupting in the front row.

The message out of Wetsuweten territory remains that the RCMP must withdraw from the area. This was absent from your story. cdnpoli

savoirfaire_2 More to come, all politicians are prolonging the rallies. They collectively need to order rcmp off wetsuweten territories & make Coastal Gas Link reroute to the option the hereditary chiefs graciously gave them to w they said no. CGL does not have a veto on Indigenous lands!

spoiled avocado toast babies

Where are these idiots coming from?

Looks like many of them just anti pipeline people with no grasp on reality.

'TORONTO -- Rallies _ used the holiday weekend to voice their support for the hereditary chiefs of Wet'suwet'en Nation in northern British Columbia.' and you're source is 'one participant told CTV News Toronto.'

Everyone should protest with hereditary chiefs, once bc gov can sell gas to china Vancouver/Victoria will be forced to use Hydro for heat at a cost 300% more than it cost today in order to pay for Site C boondoggle, protest now stop pipeline imo

Nothing to do with wetsuweten and a lot to do with green peace and suzuki

Virtue signaling idiots.

Incorrect, the blockages only occurred in the welfare provinces; leave the rest of us the fuck out of it! TidesTerrorists

Arrest the terrorists.

The silent majority will keep silent until Canada becomes a communist country. Then they'll wonder.....what just happened?

Ctv, could you explain who these protestors are supporting if the elected chiefs & a large % of Wet'suwet'en people voted in favor of the deal? At this point I'd reroute, cancel their deal and recoup the $$ lost to protests by taking it back from their funding.

Most were small rallies organized by well funded environmental groups using this issue to try and kill our energy sector. This has nothing to do with FN’s rights.

You mean in support of and funded by tides don’t you ?

'Sprung up' from opportunist and paid eco terrorists, predominantly white

She says this well! But the liberal paid msm won’t help.

No...in support of a small number of chiefs

GENZ and Millenials clueless and gullible following the misinformation campaign of anti-pipeline and climate activists. Using the Wet'suwet'en people as pawns and props.

Let’s buy these deplorables a one way ticket to Wuhan, China 🇨🇳

CTV why will you not call Blockaders Terrorists? why do you not report that PM Trudeau Can under JUSTICE FOR VICTIMS OF TERRORISM ACT, BE CHARGED AS SUPPORTER OF TERRORISM AGAINST THE ECONOMY AND WELFARE OF THE NATION? do you report facts, news or what Government let's you say?

Lol, hey Trudeau, reconcile that! Caters to all minorities, discriminating against anything with a lighter shade. lol Conservatives are going to come in like a wrecking ball soon.

Since the majority of Wet’suwet’en want the pipeline, if the protesters were really in support of Wet’suwet’en Nation, wouldn’t they be lobbying for the pipeline?

Unfortunately without well paying jobs, these protests will continue. These people are bored because they don't have a functioning economy. We need a new leader who cares about CANADIANS to lead our future! OwnedBySoros

Boycott the reserves. Support non-native buisnesses. I'm fed up.

Minister reports ‘modest progress’ after blockade talks with First NationMarc Miller declined to tell reporters what that progress was, saying he would deliver that message to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau directly The only people who should have any say on this issue are the majority of Hereditary Chiefs and First Nations on the pipeline route itself and who voted overwhelmingly in its favour Not the few Hereditary Chiefs who voted against it or the self serving activists exploiting them This means 0 progress was made. When did we allow the police to decide not to enforce the law or court injunctions? I thought they were legally obligated to do so. It also appears Trudeau simply no longer wants the job. I wish we would have made progress in the last election.

Trudeau in talks with cabinet ministers as nation-wide pipeline protests continueIndigenous Services minister Marc Miller said the economy is suffering due to the blockades, but the government’s response is a test of Canada’s ability to find peaceful resolutions to … Talks cheap .. he's a narcissistic man that lacks empathy and is incapable of leading this country. trickytrudeau mustgo I’m pretty interested to see what he and his band of merry liberals will do here. I’m almost always disappointed in him but I’m hoping this time, he will do something positive and useful. If there is just a bunch of money given, or virtue signalling made, it’s all over for him. How this Liberal Govt let this happen in the first place is beyond logic? Thugs in Ottawa and on the Tracks and Canadian tax payers stick paying for both sets of moronic imbeciles.
