Weekend Outlook: White or green Christmas?

That year, we woke up to rain on the morning of the 24th, with patches of grass showing. Then a little Christmas magic helps bring snow later in the day and for Christmas morning - right on time.

This year might be very similar. The long-range forecast looks to bring more of the same recent weather, where temperatures ride close to the freezing mark, and snowfall comes in small amounts. With single-digit snow depth totals in place and that forecast, we might cut it close. . Friday will be mostly sunny, with daytime highs of -2°C. However, a weak east breeze will make it feel a touch cooler.

On Saturday, we will see sunny skies early in the day, with increasing cloud cover as temperatures reach -2°C. Light snow should begin by midnight. Snowfall should end early Sunday, with a chance of some late-day sun as daytime highs reach the freezing mark.
