Vancouver woman ordered to pay $200k for defaming ex-boyfriend in online posts

A Vancouver woman has been ordered to pay $200,000 to an ex-boyfriend she defamed using Instagram and other websites.

In an oral judgment, Supreme Court of B.C. Justice Elliott Myers ruled “the courts have recognized that the internet can be used as an exceedingly effective tool to harm reputations.
