Trudeau government seeks to press U.S. for equipment without poking the bear GlobePolitics

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and U.S. President Donald Trump arrive to take part in a plenary session at the NATO Summit in England, on Dec. 4, 2019.It was impressive that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau could smile and repeat his answer while chewing on a mouthful of radioactive waste.

The goal was to cajole the U.S., in a lobbying effort that’s been going on almost a week, to let those key supplies go. But the underlying mantra is Don’t Poke the Bear.Mr. Trump, after all, is the president who said he would help Democratic state governors fight coronavirus, but “they have to treat us well.”

By Monday afternoon, there was a glimmer of hope: An Ontario order of 500,000 protective N95 masks, which had been sitting in a 3M warehouse in Illinois because the company could not get approval to ship it across the border, had been cleared to go.And then a bigger breakthrough: On Monday night, 3M said it had struck a deal with the White House to bring in millions of masks from China, so it could continue to ship N95 orders to Canada.

The effort to persuade the U.S. to keep medical equipment flowing began days before 3M made public its concerns about cutting off exports of masks on Friday, according to a government source. The Globe is not identifying the source because the person was not authorized to speak publicly.

globepolitics A big win for Canadians and our government. Thank you your efforts are appreciated. Your teacher background must help you deal with unruly children

globepolitics I am always asking why don’t we produce our supplies?

globepolitics The bear was poked and backed up.....things changed quickly this morning when th PM and ontarios Premier called him out.

globepolitics

globepolitics It’s not poking a bear. It’s poking a deranged, delusional narcissist. And good luck with that. You either punch him in the face or kiss his ass. Trump doesn’t understand any other way.

globepolitics Ford was successful. Not sure how that fits into your Trudeau propaganda now.

globepolitics Yes, not needlessly complicating things is good, America is not the Administration which has its hands full, nor trump who apparently has his hands full as well. The butler is apparently mad,but the masters are home, non?

globepolitics Just cut them out and start making your own. NOW is the time to stop relying on an unreliable ally. Canada has LOTS of natural resources. It's about time we started manufacturing things instead of buying from other countries.

globepolitics They both give each other the greasy finger! Trump uses less claiming trodo likes it rough!

globepolitics Grandfather Trump with Grandson Trudeau. How long will this grandson tolerate the abuse from his grandfather and say Enough is Enough. It’s getting to Canadians Trudeau’s inability to address the ongoing abuse ,e.g the blocked shipments of 3M’s N95, mask from the US -:))

globepolitics Already sorted

globepolitics The second biggest land on earth and they didn’t find one acre to build this kinda of factory and the list is so long. we need to bring the masks from others and we need to put our money in to other ppl pickets bad leadership. dont_blame_trump.

globepolitics To be honest, I don’t think it’s Trump’s fault as New York’ s people much much more need. He?’s USA’’s President, not ours. At the beginning, Canada government didn’t do anything, didn’t prepare anything!

globepolitics Too late numerous public insults from Blackface and Freeland then the Canadian fake news along with provincial politicians buying into the 3M scam have already poked the bear.

globepolitics Trudeau won't poke anyone.......he's got no Balls to do that so do expect him to do shit to trump or China. No guts Magee thinks...talk low and soft so to not offend and yet our people go without NICE. Canada can't get made and make a point cause we have no BALLS in government.

globepolitics That ship sailed on Saturday when TrudeauIsNotFitForOffice read the script DirtyButts wrote referring to new NAFTA. That passive aggressive shit will have done more damage to the stronger party we are negotiating with (USA).

globepolitics You have to praise his leadership skills and his every move as brilliant. Look at Cuomo and DeBlasio. They hate his guts, yet once they stroked his ego, voila, respirators, hospitals and ventilators. You need to play the idiotic game.

globepolitics Fake News USA was ensuring production and supply chains. It cannot give what it does not have. Horrible Hate Mongering AGAIN

globepolitics Trudeau (amongst a long list of others) failed to meet his responsibilities regarding one of the most basic requirements of government and Canadian MSM has managed to make it all about Trump

globepolitics Ban the export of pulp required to make N95s to the US ASAP!

globepolitics

globepolitics Trudeau wants to punch him....just like any sane, logical person

globepolitics He's not a bear, more like a turd

globepolitics How can a Beaver POKE the Bear, as you say it! JustinTrudeau
