Toronto pitcher Alek Manoah faced struggles during the 2023 season but his competitive spirit and arrogant attitude are loved by the fans. Despite the setbacks, his potential remains intact.

On Monday September 14th, 2021, with 10 strikeouts against Tampa Bay Manoah became the fastest Toronto pitcher to reach the 100-strikeout mark (17 games; the previous mark was 20 by Juan Guzman and Drew Hutchison). He followed that up in 2022 with a season dominate enough to earn him an AL Cy Young finalist position. We all know the struggles Manoah faced during the 2023 season. Struggling not only on the mound but making some decisions off it that upset the fan base.

Manoah’s competitive spirit and arrogant attitude is something Toronto baseball fans love. The dominance and the swagger. He was our pitcher, and he loves Toronto. It almost seems the struggles and the adversity suit his story. As if he may have needed to trip and fall to reach his potential. A smooth untarnished rise to the top doesn’t suit Alek Manoah’s personality. And when he comes back expect him to be carrying the same swagger and arrogance that got him there in the first place. Manoah possesses a devastating Sinker. He can use it on both sides of the plate
