Michelle and Andre Jesso rolled into Port aux Basques loaded down with decorations, trees, gift cards, toys, sleighs, soccer balls, dolls, stuffies and food on Sunday, brightening the holidays for more than 40 families. New from WS_DianeCrocker

“This world can be an ugly place, and if you can help somebody, why not?” she said.“It’s unreal to see people in such a need, desperate people. It’s unbelievable that in our day and age, that people could be in this situation. And in the blink of an eye, that could be us tomorrow or the next day,” he said.

Michelle collects things all year long and, if someone needs something outside of Christmas, she goes to her stash, ready to help out. Piles upon piles of donated items can be found in just about every room of Michelle Jesso’s Three Rock Cove home. - ContributedWhen it comes to giving, Michelle has her ways of finding out where the needs are and will often receive referrals from others. Her list is an ever-growing one and she never shares the names with anyone else.So, when it’s time to make deliveries, she and Andre will dress up in Santa suits and make their rounds.

“You give and you forget because if you’re going to worry about what they’re going to do with it or whatever, the purpose is gone.”
