On the cusp of another leadership race, insiders say they have hope — and some reservations — about whether the Green party can avoid the disastrous episode it experienced last year.

, the party is still trying to recover. Hobbled by a drop in party staff and monthly fundraising, the Greens’ interim leader — who took over after Paul resigned last fall — is now on a national “reconnection tour” to soothe members riled and concerned by the allegations of unchecked discrimination and poor leadership.

She explained the move in part as a response to how Paul failed to condemn Noah Zatzman, one of her top advisers, who had accused unnamed Green MPs of antisemitism and vowed to “defeat” them. Atwin had previously condemned Paul’s stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict erupting at the time. For Kuttner, part of the solution is to look at the structure of the party. During last year’s infighting, Paul’s opponents accused her of failing to understand the Greens tradition of decentralized leadership, where decisions about the party are made by an internal governing body called the federal council, which is made up of the leader and a series of representatives elected by party members.

For Darcie Lanthier, who recently concluded her third stint on the Greens’ federal council as the representative for Prince Edward Island, Kuttner has been a much-needed “unifying force” in the party. A big part of that is communication — something Lanthier and others who criticized Paul have said was lacking under her leadership.

Not everyone is convinced the party will be able to make the right structural changes before the impending leadership race comes to an end.

Conservatives confident leadership vote won’t be delayed despite membership surge - National | Globalnews.caInsiders say the party is six to eight weeks behind confirming memberships, and are worried about the party's ability to get ballots to the voters in time. Its pretty cool how diverse the candidates are. Lots of interesting thoughts and ideas. I am amazed at the calls for transparency and openness by media, but zero calls about transparency from the govt in power. Here’s one. What science are the liberals using to justify travel mandates or vax mandates for the House of Commons. Funny times we live in. Sneaky, I call it.

Well over 600,000 voters may be eligible to cast ballot for next Conservative leaderThe Conservative Party of Canada says well over 600,000 voters may be eligible to vote for the next leader and campaigns should prepare accordingly. That's a lot, wow. Strange how they use ranked ballots & allow 14-17 year olds to vote in this important election, but oppose it in all other elections. How many are being paid by SkinnyTrump Poilievre?
