Six months after an outbreak was declared in the Baffin Island community, 31 people have been identified with active tuberculosis and 108 have been diagnosed with latent TB.

Posted: May 26, 2022 4:29 PM CT | Last Updated: 6 hours ago

Announcing the Pangnirtung outbreak in November, Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Michael Patterson said the declaration was prompted by a growing number of TB patients in the community of about 1,600 that could not be linked to previously known cases. Tuberculosis is a treatable illness and those with symptoms are urged to get screened at the health centre.

Symptoms include a cough that lasts longer than three weeks, feeling very tired, a loss of appetite, and a fever or night sweats.Nunavut does not typically report cases of tuberculosis by community, believing that stigma around the disease persists., including the sharing of statistics that show which demographics are affected by the illness.that it would eliminate TB in Inuit communities by 2030.

Weren’t they pushing everyone to get injected. It just keeps on getting better and better. When are people going to wake up. These diseases are going to be waking up in people’s bodies across the globe. Like Fauci didn’t know about these injections. Why is he now so quite

Maybe they should move?...

'Pangnirtung...is grappling with the largest tuberculosis outbreak in Nunavut since 2017, according to data the territorial government released on Thursday after refusing for months to reveal the extent of the disease’s spread.'

Where is Indian Affairs? Is it an honorary post or do people actively do something to help our native population because it doesn’t appear that they do. Why aren’t journalists covering this area of government that we, the taxpayers, are paying for?

TB is predominantly airborne. Heating indoor air lowers the relative humidity. Low relative humidity results in more rapid evaporation of droplets and creates more airborne agents. In that climate, humidifiers would greatly reduce infections of TB and several viruses.

The rich indigenous Vancouver developers will pick up the bill, and pay taxes for any vaccinations required.

How AI-equipped technology could help clinicians better diagnose mental health issues | CBC RadioCould video games and apps equipped with artificial intelligence help diagnose mental health issues like depression? Some experts think so — but patient privacy should be at the forefront of the movement. AI are notorious at becoming racist and misogynist. Medicine already has problems with these issues in person, compounding it with AI won't benefit anyone. love the idea of the app selling/providing my data to an insurance company just like they do with driving data from car black boxes for MVAs Such trust and over-reliance on technology! There is no substitute for human to human contact. Psychiatry at any rate is not an exact science, if a science at all, and letting 'data' rule diagnosis means ruling out context totally.
