According to a news release issued Monday, the RCMP’s Northeast Traffic Services-Cape Breton pulled over a motorist exceeding the posted speed limit on New Year’s Eve, around 11:45 p.m. RCMP charged the driver with exceeding the 100 km/h speed limit, violating the conditions of a learner’s driver’s licence by having three passengers in the vehicle and was issued a seven-day driving suspension for operating a conveyance while having consumed alcohol, the release said.
