Seven goals scored against the Giants in the first period was enough to make you dive for your WHL record book.

In the early stages of Game 3 of the Western Hockey League final at the Langley Events Centre, former Vancouver Giants star defenceman Blum sent out of a GIF on Twitter of Steve Carell, in his Michael Scott character from The Office, looking equal parts aghast and grossed out at something.

By the 6:33 mark of the period, Prince Albert had four goals and Vancouver had four penalties, which drew considerable ire from the crowd of 4,733. It was enough to make you dive for your WHL record book. The most goals scored in one period of a WHL playoff game is nine, which the Saskatoon Blades tallied in a frame in a 12-5 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors on March 30, 1986.

Tendeck came back in for Miner in the second period. He finished with 10 saves. Ian Scott made 27 saves in the Prince Albert net. Brayden Watts broke his shutout bid with a goal at 19:08 of the second period. Yannik Valenti added a power-play goal at 14:44 of the third period. The reason for attendance? Byram is expected to go in the first four or five picks. Byram, a 6-foot-1, 192-pound left-handed shot defenceman, led all D-men in the three major juniors in goals during the regular season. Byram had an assist on Valenti’s goal, giving him 23 points, including seven goals in 18 playoff games.
